it's the 1st day of chinese new year and we're all doing our visiting rounds :) at my aunt's place i saw this really interesting, and i must add, creative and innovative, piece of furniture. i just wanted to share it here :)

a side table handcrafted from bamboo
taken at a different angle ... can you actually guess what it doubles up as?
according to my auntie, her kids used to sit in it... and the oldest is now in her mid twenties! this chair must be at least 25 years old!
i'm sure this was created because many people, especially those who lived in villages, couldn't afford to get a table AND a baby chair. but look ... what amazing innovations can sprout from trying times :)
now you tell me... creative or what!
happy pimping! and happy chinese new year!! :)
Happy Chinese New Year Luthien! I think that is the most innovative thing I have ever seen and I love it. Thanks for sharing a true piece of functional furniture. xxoo

ReplyDeleteOh! Happy Chinese New Year Luthien!! That is one fabulous chair! It's truly amazing we're capable of when pushed my our circumstances to think outside the box. I imagine that's how many inventions throughout history came about, too cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat little contraption. I wonder if one can be made for older children - like a desk or something. Thanks for sharing and Happy Chinese New Year!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like that...what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Luthien, wishing you much happiness and many blessings in this new year!

Luthien,
ReplyDeleteI think maybe the trick is to just take time for yourself and find that inner energy. If even just for a few minutes, to sit in the sun and close your eyes, and daydream.
I know you will find your inner youth and energy. I have no doubts, my dear friend.
Love Melissa
